After a long wait we finally took the 25 year plunge - yes you guessed
right, we took out a home loan to purchase a house. It is just right for a small
family like ours. I read something very interesting - it said " a house can be
bought but not a home- a home is something a small group of people create."
Enough of the deep stuff, let's show you some photos
.
We have just got our camera repaired so these are a few trial shots to check the
camera out. Soon we will post some good ones.
We have already had our first visitors - Anu's college mate from
Madurai Engineering College - Joshua
. He came to visit us for 10 days from Wellington, New Zealand with his
small family of wife, Angel and daughters Hannah and Elizabeth. It was quite a
riot and it is amazing that our house is still standing as the kids just about
brought it down with their laughter and dancing to loud music. We loved every
moment as it was a good break for us too and we made full use of it.
Our house is about 10 years old, built on a subdivision. We have a cathedral
ceiling in the lounge room and that is what we fell in love with when all of us
saw the house for the first time.
And the house had been maintained very well which meant we could move straight
in without fixing anything. Let me show you around
...photos seem to tell their own story of happiness that this new home has
brought us. We have to do a bit of work outside the house as there were a lot of
weeds growing in the backyard and a lot of lavender plants growing wildly in the
driveway and near the doorstep. A couple of weeks ago we decided to get our
hands dirty and do some cleanup work...
. Anu was busy making some yummy food for us and occasionally coming out to take
these photos. She loves gardening and can name any bush, flower or vegetable
that grows on this planet ...my knowledge is limited to the vegetable I eat
(which is very rare). We both love palms and have already started a small
collection of different varieties of palms. The deal in our home is that every
time I make Anu cry - I have to get her a plant. It was turning out too
expensive for me so I have reverted to being " always at fault"- it is cheaper
and less hassles. It actually worked wonders cos' I got a new Honda Accord in
the bargain ( Uppar wala deta hai to chappad faad ke deta hai - which when
translated in henglish means " When God gives, he does not hold back"). Do u
Know I am in love - with my car. Anu says I can sleep in the car cos' she is fed
up with me pampering my new car ( washing it every week , vacuuming it often and
basically telling everyone off if they don't adhere to strict cleanliness
standards ). I will show you my new toy
... It comes a close second to my wife and kids.
