Anu is my wife and my best
friend.
Though we have been married for 10 years there is still a lot of things I keep
learning about Anu. I know that she is quite different to me in many ways,
especially in our personal interests - but hey that's what
makes her a very interesting person to live with.
Anu
finished Civil Engineering from Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Kamaraj
University, Madurai, India and moved to Cochin shipyard for her traineeship. She
soon discovered that Civil Engineering was not really for her and took up
employment with Isex Fashions in Madras - a company making garments for the big
international brands like Bennetton. Fashion wear has always been an obsession
for Anu and I think she would really love to go into fashion designing in
future. That is a dream she always talks about.
In 1993 she married a young handsome bloke (
that would be me) who was eagerly waiting to go to Australia and start life over
there. And that's how she came to Australia and yet again had to change her
career after trying her hand at a few jobs - she had finally found her forte'
which turned out to be computing. So to pursue that inclination towards the IT
industry, she went to India in 1999 and finished a few short courses learning
different programs. And voila she landed a really good career break as a
software consultant with a successful company.
Enough of Anu's resume' and let's go to the
interesting part. Let's see if you can match any of your interests with those of
Anu. Here we go .........
Anu's
interests
and
hobbies
- Stitching and craftwork -
she recently made a blouse to go with a wedding saree for
her friend from work.
- Cooking - she is really good at it and has
the uncanny knack of getting a recipe right the very first time - although the
aftermath is quite tragic for me as I end up cleaning the mess.( check out
her recipes page - last updated at the turn of the century)
- But at the moment - it is this
...
lucky bugger
@#*#@~#
- Reading - Anything
and everything that comes in her way - except road signs (although she is my
official navigator)
- Sleeping
- I had to mention this as Anu has perfected the art of sleeping for 10-12
hours at a stretch with potential to go the whole distance of 24 if not woken
with a very loud noise - that's where my precious daughter Pallavi comes in
with a little help from me.
- Loves phoning India
and talking to her folks. Even more now cos' Kavi ( her younger
sister) has got a baby boy called Siddharth and you know how women are when it
comes to baby boys. Eeshwar ka avtaar hai jaani ( gift of God my friend).
- Loves travelling and going to new
places - this is a passion we both share and is
rubbing off on 4 year old Pallavi cos' when we wake her up for her milk, she
says in an Aussie accent "where we goin ?".
- Chatting online -
Anu's got her own network of friends on MSN Messenger.
Anu'
Favorites
Music - Abba, Carpenters, BoneyM , Beatles etc
( that is stone age music I tease her) but her taste in Hindi and Tamil songs is
very good as she listens to catchy songs with a lot of pep.
